None Greater Than You

Welcome home. Yeah it is that time again. I whine, you read, everybody goes home happy. Life had me. But I am back now. Back and ready to serve. Let’s get right into it then, you impatient young ones.

Let me get this out of the way first, if this sounds preachy it is only because it was originally written on a Sunday. This is by no means gospel, but the rambling of a barely sane young man. Had to spell that out because I don’t want anyone looking for scripture to back me up or prove me wrong. Don’t bother.

I think I found the one topic that might actually tickle your bum. Hell, I will dare try inspire you today. I want you to be better than everyone else. Impossible? You are already so conceited, trying to make a pitch to you sounds ridiculous. Sorry, but you already believe you are the best there is in the world. Fact is, you believe if any place burnt down whiles you were inside, you will be the sole survivor. You believe no plague can claim you. Ridiculous but you are still alive, right? Before we flaunt your superiority at the world, why don’t we widen the gap? Let’s attempt to make your greatness so clear they see you shine from miles away.

You are so great; people like to do stuff for you. Friends, family and sometimes even strangers want to do things for you. So here is a crazy idea. Do something back for them.
If anyone dares love you, love them more. Hell, you are much better than they are. You have a bigger and better heart and you are capable of much more love than they ever can dream of. Smother them with love. School them oh great one, in the act of loving that they become ashamed they dared call what they showed you “love”. Make mum scream there is too much love and dad throw you out for “over-loving” him. Kill them with love. You are better than them and so is your love.

Did anybody say they would do anything for you? Let them know you could kill or die for them. Assure them you would do more than the anything they promised. Then proceed to show them. How dare them. What do they know? Come on great one, you are not just a shade better than they are. If this was a fight, they brought water pistols to a gunfight.
No, no, no, it just does not end there. Now, the next time anyone tries to do something for you which possibly could be done on your own, you know what to do right? Of course, get rid of them and do it for yourself and if applicable, for them too. Nobody should attempt picking something you or they dropped before you do. How can they even think about it? Do they know how great your reflexes are? The great one has the greatest body coordination and they dare do that? These amateurs, they dare the serving ability of the greatest being alive?

I am almost done, great one. All I have been trying to say in this post is your selfishness and self-conceit need not be a character flaw. Our shortcomings can be easily turned into assets. Imagine how well you can think of yourself (I know you don’t care what anyone thinks of you) when you help everyone who needs you and do things for other people because you want to. Of course you get it. I didn’t forget you are the greatest being alive.
