Please Don't
Welcome home. It’s almost like a relationship right? Acting like you own me each time I disappear for too long, you lovely little brutes. I actually do have someone else to hurl abuse at today. Surprisingly it isn’t you. Wait, it actually might be. Let’s get this party started then.
Hello you. Yes you. You had just one job. To be a friend. No no no no, I never employed you. I never came looking neither did I ask for your opinion. Hell, I wasn’t even aware I needed a counsellor. But you just had to. RIGHT???
You just had to. Always smartly dressed with your perfect “just got licked by a giant dog” hair. I admit, your looks held me spellbound and before I knew, the garbage you were spewing was quickly growing roots. Well played.
Now between your “patience is a virtue” and “the early bird nonsense” which supersedes? Between your “plan your life” and “be spontaneous” sermons which do I take? How do I choose between the “fight for your love” and the “if you love something, let it go” schools of thought.
Do you now agree we are better off without your nonsense? I thought the only handbook to life was what we wrote on a daily. A little race here, a crawl there. War today, peace next week. Guess I’m mistaken.
Will people ever understand we count on them and actually listen to their unsolicited opinions? That we sometimes think their way is better than what we intended? Are they even aware their strange opinions mean that much to us??

I would actually love it if every time you felt the need to peddle your nonsense or rules or whatever, you remember I'm stupidly listening to you. All I usually need you to say is "trust yourself" when you don't have the answers I need and not to give me theories.
Could you leave me to make my own mistakes, ow you "I listen to the radio" sage.

We err, we learn, we live on...
